When Courtney Hadwin took the America’s Got Talent stage, it was hard to predict how she would perform. The 13-year-old was too shy, she admitted she was nervous, and she stumbled through question asked by judge Mel B.

But as soon as she began signing Hard to Handle by Otis Redding, the girl transformed into a real star with a stage presence, the voice that demanded attention, and confident dance moves. You can check out the performance in the video below:

The reactions of the host and judges were priceless, as they were clearly surprised that such a shy girl can have such a strong voice.

While Simon Cowell gushed over Courtney’s metamorphosis, calling the girl ‘a lion’ on stage, Howie Mandel did something she wasn’t expecting – stroke the golden buzzer:

The teenager, in disbelief, began to cry as confetti shower fell around her. Now, she goes straight to live show rounds:

I didn't know what to expect when I auditioned for @AGT but the golden buzzer was more than I ever could have dreamed of.

Actually, the girl is quite the seasoned singer. She has a whole YouTube channel where she shares her covers of the biggest hits from the past.

And she also took part in The Voice Kids U.K., where she became a finalist. We wonder whether she will achieve the same success in the United States as well.
