One teenage boy has proven that with strong will and dedication you can make your dreams come true, no matter if others might think it’s impossible.
The wonder musician
18-year-old Alexey Romanov has become a promising piano player despite one little detail – he has no fingers. Romanov was born without hands because of a debilitating illness but he didn’t let this illness to dictate his life.
The village boy from the Republic of Tatarstan got inspired by the works of Mozart and Vivaldi, which prompted him to take up music lessons two years ago. His music teacher at a specialist school for children with disabilities showed him the support that was so needed for the young talent and helped him to get started. They began with famous melodies from films, including extremely popular vampire series “Twilight” and 1990s Hollywood classic “Titanic.”
Romanov, who was adopted two years ago, credits not only his teacher but also his friends who were by his side when he started making first steps into the music world:
I was particularly helped by two of my female friends. The girls taught me the basics of music – they told me how to read notes. They still help me. They send me sheet music, which I study and if I like something, I let it settle inside me.
The teenager’s adoptive parents noticed his predisposition for music and got him a synthesizer. The boy practiced day and night until he was ready to participate in competitions, which he began winning, one after another.
He played in La Primavera chamber orchestra in Tatarstan’s capital and performed on TV, attracting attention and awe from the public and the media.
Social media stunned by his performance
One of Romanov’s biggest dreams was to meet Nick Vujicic, a man who was born without limbs but who inspires the world with his achievements. The boy wanted to play for him and his dream came true.
By Nick’s look and the teary-eyes of the audience, we can be sure the young talent will have a bright future ahead of him.
