And there’s one particular area where these annoying pimples can appear unexpectedly, and the mere sound of it is enough to make you cringe: vaginal acne.
Acne on your lady parts can appear various reasons, including hormonal imbalance and lack of proper hygiene. 1. Don’t shave your nether regions too often

Although ingrown hairs and vaginal acne are two separate problems, frequent hair removal can actually make vaginal acne worse and increase the risk of infection. Use only clean blades and change them after two or three uses, as they can worsen the irritation if they aren’t sharp. Also, don’t forget to moisturize the area after shaving.
2. Wear panties made from natural fabrics and avoid thongs
When it comes to choosing underwear, regular cotton panties are the best option. They are comfortable, breathable, and they also minimize friction during movement. To prevent harmful bacteria from growing down there and causing acne, you may also sleep naked to keep the area dry and ventilated.
3. Wash your lady parts with gentle soaps

Harsh soaps can make vaginal acne worse and disrupt bacterial balance down there. When choosing a product to wash you your lady parts, opt for gentle soaps, like baby soaps and natural soaps containing mild antibacterial ingredients, e.g. oregano oil or tea tree oil.
4. Restore hormonal balance

Hormonal imbalance is one of the most common causes of vaginal acne. While there are some serious medical causes of hormonal imbalance, such as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), that require medical treatment, mild hormonal imbalance can be treated naturally. Eating a healthier diet can help with that; focus on fresh vegetables and fruits, whole grains, and healthful fats, such as omega-3s. Also, you may want to include soy products into your diet, as they contain phytoestrogens, which may help balance your sex hormones.
5. Give over-the-counter medicines a try
If the tips listed above aren’t particularly helpful, it may be time to treat the problem with pharmacy-bought products. Ask a pharmacist which product is best for the delicate area, and make sure to apply it only to the areas of skin where hair grows.
