It seems like it was just yesterday that Kensington Palace announced Meghan Markle’s pregnancy, and look at her now! Duchess Meghan looks unmistakably pregnant.
Pregnancy suits her so much! The Duchess looks glowing as always, and her fans are wondering: How many more weeks do we have to wait until the baby arrives?
Parents.com, a website about parenting, estimates that the Duchess has almost reached the third trimester – she’s about 26 weeks pregnant! So, what happens at this stage during pregnancy?
How is the baby doing?
At week 26, the baby is about the size of red cabbage, weighing about 1.7 pounds. His hearing continues to develop, and he may even be able to discern voices and other sounds.

Other senses are more developed at this point, too. His taste buds are fully formed, his nostrils are starting to open, and his lips and mouth are getting more sensitive.
At this point, the baby’s lungs continue to develop, and he may start to practice breathing by inhaling amniotic fluid.
What changes happen in the mom’s body?
During week 26, the uterus continues to expand and reaches about 2 inches above the belly button, and body weight continues to increase as the baby grows and fluid volume goes up.
As the expanding uterus presses on nearby organs, the mom may experience symptoms such as urinary frequency and constipation.

During week 26, some women may experience Braxton-Hicks contractions (also known as false labor), although these commonly start during the third trimester.
So, with Meghan’s third trimester just around the corner, let’s take a guess: will the baby look more like mom or like dad? What do you think?
