Phytophotodermatitis, also known as “margarita burn,” is a chemical reaction between photosensitizing agents in citrus fruits (furocoumarin) and UVA rays, which makes your skin highly sensitive to the sun. This reaction is worse if the skin is wet or sweaty. Dermatologists advise not to use cosmetics containing lemon juice during sun exposure.
