Usually, when parents split up, one of the ways to ensure children do not face a hard time is by setting an amount one ex pays in child support.

This way, the parents are still responsible for their children's welfare even when they don't have full custody and one parent can't simply walk away, leaving the children struggling.
However, even with legit child support, some people can be so heartless that they enjoy financial perks but leave their children virtually penniless.
Loaded ex ignores his responsibilities
Single mother of two Tanya Ivackovic shared her story with the UK Sun where she talked about how her ex Sean Horserly turned his back on her and their children.
The mother said she and the kids had to struggle to get by meanwhile Sean enjoyed a more luxurious life.
Tanya said she often caught glimpses of her ex's fancy lifestyle through his Instagram posts.
There are glimpses into his flash lifestyle: a selfie taken track-side during a trip to the Abu Dhabi Formula 1 Grand Prix, several photos, taken from different angles, of his £70,000 Mercedes.
Sadly, all these were vastly different from her life as she struggled to raise two teenage boys on her own. She said that Sean owed her up to £101,000 (about $124,000) in child support and for the past eleven years, he refused to pay her a penny.
Tanya had no choice but to remortgage her flat just so they could afford to get by. She revealed that she had spent her inheritance and even cashed in her pension just to pay for food, clothes and other essential bills.
While he swans around the world, I have to scrimp and save to give our boys what I can. It's appalling.
Tanya said she was supposed to receive $359 weekly in child support but after barely meeting his end of the deal in the first year, Sean refused to pay since then.
She said she tried all she could to make Sean pay up but the processes weren't fruitful.
According to HelpGuide, it's important for divorced parents to always look out for the kids.
No matter how angry the parents are with each other, they have to set all that aside and communicate constantly for the good of the children.

Hopefully, Tanya and Sean can find a middle ground eventually as their current situation just doesn't sound healthy.
