Women choose an utterly reliable and supportive type of person to be with them in the delivery room. More than often, it's their husband who is the perfect partner to share those intimate and intense moments. But, what other relatives can make the cut?

Well, we cannot lay out all the options for you as your best defender in the scenario could be anyone. It could be your sister, mother or your friend.

We do know who isn't fit to be called a pregnant lady's back up: a toxic mother-in-law. Such a figure waits on you to fail, provides bad judgment, and has no sense of keeping healthy boundaries.

A mom-to-be shared her absolute nightmare of a story on Reddit. After going through an exhausting experience of delivering a baby girl, the woman realized things could still go worse. After welcoming her child, she noticed her mother-in-law had recorded the entire labor from her pushing to the stitching process.

When asked to delete it, her husband's momzilla agreed to do so. But, a week later, the woman spotted her showing the footage to random strangers at the hospital who were mostly men.

It took her going to the court to have the gory video removed. After that, the mother-in-law was restrained to see her grandchildren. New mom disclosed that it's wasn't her first time messing it up for her. She had previously given her a hard time while she gave birth to a baby boy.

People were appalled and provided some additional insight

@compassionatecow:

Ahh this is why my MIL will NEVER be allowed in the birthing suite.That’s just pure craziness! How upsetting for you. Sending you love OP.

@kellylovesdisney:

I'm a nurse so not much shocks me but I read the second half of your post with my nouth agape in horror. I am so incredibly sorry. I cannot believe none of the RNs noticed!!! I'm so upset for you.

@kschmidt62226:

Why was MIL allowed in the room at all (since she already had bad history from when your son was born)? Was this a nursing failure?

@km2399:

One word: TOXIC

Do you think it was wrong of the mother that she allowed her husband's negative mother in the labor room? She did have past experience. Share this and let us know what you would've done in her situation.
