Simon And Garfunkel Reunite For Iconic Hit 'The Sound Of Silence' After 45 Years, And It Gives Us Goosebumps

Two iconic folk duo, Simon and Garfunkel, made history in the music world when they performed their hit song The Sound Of Silence after more than four decades.

A soul-stirring song

The Sound Of Silence was recorded at Columbia Studios by Simon and Garfunkel. It was written more than four decades ago by Paul Simon. The song was included on their debut album, Wednesday Morning, 3 A.M.

After the album release, its failure led to the group’s split. However, a year later the song began to attract airplay in Boston and reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Breathtaking performance

Simon and Garfunkel were one of the best-selling music groups of the 60s. The duo reunited for The Sound Of Silence four decades later, and it still melts the hearts of fans.

Simon who wrote the song in 1963 at the tender age of 21 claims he put down the lyrics in the bathroom while living with his parents.

Though the song was their first hit and never went out of fashion, the same could not be said for their relationship. At the height of the duo’s fame, Garfunkel walked away.

After many years later, Simon and Garfunkel put their issues aside as they appeared together, to the delight of fans at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s Anniversary Concert.

There is no doubt that their reunion performance of their iconic hit proves they are the kings of vocal harmony.
