New Biography Discloses Prince Charles's Role And Attempts To Become A True-Hearted Dad. Did He Really Succeed?

Date October 31, 2018

Princess Diana reportedly suffered from some mental issues, primarily mood swings: from alarming calmness to deafening turmoil. Though she was an icon of kindness, she had own struggles during all her life. Only Diana knows what exactly she had during her lifespan, but she'll always be Lady D for all of us.

Mood swings allegedly passed on William and Harry in some situations. It is believed that Diana sometimes did something extraordinary toward Charles and their children such as making up stories about a husband or allowing kids to wander around the city on their own.

Hence, her mental distress, sadly, affected Harry and William. They didn't know what to do, how to treat both parents, and who to trust due to all the drama.

Notwithstanding, both parents influenced kids in good and bad ways.

Prince Charles' fatherhood's role

Biographer, Robert Johnson, wrote a book about Duke of Wales and his fatherhood. As it turns out, both William and Harry weren't kind to their dad whatsoever. They had a hot temper as their mother, Diana.

Duke of Cambridge talked firmly to Charles and challenged him by his attitude on a daily basis. William seems sensitive and open-minded, but everybody knows he can sometimes be rough and 'a little grand.'

Prince Charles tried to cope with boys' mood swings as he did with Diana's, but mostly it was out of his control. William and Harry were outrageous teenagers and sometimes avoided their father. But Charles didn't give up and tried to get them closer over and over again.

Though Prince Charles found his happiness in his sons, now and then he talked rudely. Once when a William was 4, his hands were freezing in the cold winter evening, and Charles reportedly told him:

I told you to bring some gloves, and you wouldn’t listen. So shut up.

Still, the Duke of Wales always attempted to show his sons that he loved, cared, and admired them, even if they treated him badly. He wanted to be the father as he imagined all his life since William and Harry were his eternal delight in life.

Though boys had very tough adolescence due to family breakdown and sometimes loathed their father for being absent most of the time. But after Diana's death, Charles dedicated all his time to his sons helping them in every detail and encourage them to implement own ideas and perspectives into their activities.

Gratitude

Duke of Wales always treated kids as young grown-ups. Despite his weaknesses, Charles did absolutely everything to win their hearts, respect, and family bond. Harry's been much calmer and kinder to his dad than William. Duke of Sussex became even more understandable and loyal after Meghan got along with Prince Charles.

When Meghan met the Prince of Wales, she was bowled over by his gentlemanly charm. She told Prince Harry he was wonderful; welcoming, warm, hard-working, kind and stable. She made it clear that he should appreciate him and bond more.

After Harry's wedding in May, he paid a small tribute to Charles:

Pa, while I know you’ve asked that today not be about you, you must forgive me if I don’t listen to you. Much like when I was younger. Instead, I ask everyone here to say a huge thank-you to you, for your incredible work over nearly 50 years.

Prince William may be tough sometimes, but he's trying to be a great father to own three children. William, as Charles, stayed in the delivery room 3 times in a row with his wife. And while Duke of Cambridge wants to avoid any similarities, he's still got some same habits and ideas as his father.

Prince Charles has been with William and Harry through thick and thin, and he's still trying to do his best to be a doting father and great granddad. Hopefully, they'll get along!
