"Below Deck" Star Captain Lee Rosback Mourns His Son's Death To Addiction: "A Hole In Our Souls"

Date July 30, 2019

Captain Lee Rosbach of Below Deck was well-aware of the youngest son Joshua's problems. Despite his failing battles, the doting father loved him to bits. Joshua is being honored by him as a selfless man who had devoted his energy and life to those he cared for.

People magazine confirmed that the middle-aged guy passed away from a drug overdose on July 22. It was accidental but, he'd been fighting the same demons for almost two decades.

His dad is mourning

The veteran captain took to Instagram and expressed the heartbreak his family is suffering from. He left a subtle reminder for everyone how deadly substance abuse can prove to be. It's a merciless plague which can hit a person belonging to any social class or geographical boundary.

This past Saturday, my beloved wife Mary Anne and I laid our youngest son, Joshua Lee Rosbach to rest. After a twenty year struggle, he finally succumbed to the demons he fought so long and so hard. Addiction is an insidious disease that knows no social status or geographic boundaries. Whether you live in a 10,000 sq ft mansion or a double wide trailer, the path of death, destruction and devastation it leaves remains the same. We loved Josh unconditionally and were proud of the man he had become in spite of his problems. There was no one i ever knew who gave more of himself to those in his life. He loved with all his being without expecting anything in return. We both feel a hole in our souls that will never be filled. So my message to those of you who are fighting this disease, find a way to get help no matter what. For those of you who have a friend, family member, son, or daughter who's struggling, do what ever it takes to get them the help they need. Be kind and loving, and try to enjoy every second you have with them. Do not pray for our son, but please take care of your children and friends who may need it, as it isn’t too late for them. Lee also mentioned how he and his wife, Mary Anne are holding up. He bravely instructed his followers to take care of those having the same plight. Being kind and compassionate is the only remedy of this morbid condition, he explained. The caption summed up the parents' agony as he wrote:

We both feel a hole in our souls that will never be filled.

People sympathized and felt for his loss

No one can imagine Captain's affliction but the least we can do is to pray for his son and family's healing. Share this and send him your condolences.
