Woman Cusses Out Mexican Landscaper And His Mother Calling Them "Drug Dealers, Rapists And Animals"

Date June 26, 2018

In 2015, when Donald Trump announced his candidacy for Presidency, he shocked the world with a statement that until date remains perhaps the most controversial of all comments he has made regarding immigration.

When Mexico sends its people, they're not sending the best. They're sending people that have lots of problems and they're bringing those problems. They're bringing drugs, they're bringing crime. They're rapists and some, I assume, are good people, but I speak to border guards and they're telling us what we're getting.

According to the Migration Policy Institute, about 11.7 million Mexicans resided in the US in 2014. And the number continues to rise. There were widespread concerns that Trump’s statements may fuel negative bias against immigrants, especially seeing as he continues to speak in less-than-endearing terms about immigrants.

Yesterday, another video exposing an act of racism went viral. This time it involved a white woman who was caught on camera verbally assaulting a Mexican man who was working in a garden. Esteban Guzman was heard asking the woman why she hated him and she said: “because you’re Mexican.”

The original video was shared on Facebook but was later blocked by administrators who claimed it was in violation of Facebook policies. However, this did not stop other people from reposting the video on other social media channels.

Eventually, Facebook issued Guzman an apology and removed blocks on the post. Some Facebook users have complained of discrimination by Facebook with regard racially demeaning posts and comments and see no reason why Guzman’s video was even taken down, to begin with.

In the meantime, people following the story on social media have been sharing their messages of support for Guzman and the community of immigrants in America.

Many Americans believe that the increasing incidents of racism in America is being fueled by the President’s unflinching position on immigrants. Despite the constant criticism, the President refuses to tackle the issue head-on and call out people who indulge in race bashing.

Until the situation changes, it is likely that the anti-immigrant rhetoric will continue to rear its ugly head on a regular basis.
