Dog The Bounty Hunter Breaks Down Recalling How Late Beth Chapman Prepared Him For Life Without Her

Date July 11, 2019 13:14

Beth Chapman left this world on June 26 — Duane's sweetheart sadly passed away after battling throat cancer. The star faced her death at a Honolulu hospital in a group of the closest people to her heart.

Beth was only 51 years old. Devastated Duane and their children paid heartbreaking tributes to their significant woman. Such situations are the most gruesome for a soul and are the most difficult to bear for a heart.

Life without her

The Dog the Bounty Hunter star made sure her family would remain strong and patient after her death. Her kids disclosed Beth had taught them to be strong no matter what. Duane Chapman's interview with ET is somewhat teary and heartbreaking — the star recalled how his late wife prepared him for a life without her.

For two to three years, she knew this might happen. So she would say, 'Who is going to sit next to you?' And I said, 'No one.'

Duane didn't manage to hold his tears back as he continued:

'Big Daddy, you better not let another girl take my place.' I said, 'I won't.'

The Chapman family is still processing the loss of their favorite Beth. It's been an emotionally-sensitive time for all of them.

Even though she is not physically there, mentally and spiritually she is there.

The TV star told Beth he would never let her go, but on one of her last days, she called him to enter the bathroom and asked to look at her as she was slowly falling apart, and said, "Please, let me go."

The 51-year-old Beth Chapman was buried on June 29, three days after her demise. She wanted her memorial to be in Hawaiian style. Duane told:

She said please Hawaiian style … please do this right. She loved Hawaii and she loved people. The people mostly she loved.

The entire family kept their promise to then-dying Beth, and her funerals were conducted in the style in question.

Rest in peace, Beth Chapman.
