During the interview with Elle, the legendary singer Cher supposed following fun and acting on an instinct may have produced numerous pivotal moments in her life.
She also added that every person has some periods of hardships, but it is important to stay strong and never give up.
Look, I’ve had huge failures in my life. Huge dips and ‘Oh, you’re over. You’re over.’ This one guy once said, ‘You’re over,’ every year for I don’t know how many years. And I just said to him, ‘You know what? I will be here when you’re not doing what you do anymore.’ I had no idea if I was right or wrong. I was just tired of hearing him say it.
Thought her career was over
Recently, the pop icon shared some details about The Cher Show, a musical about her early life and career, which was not always easy. In the musical, the iconic singer wanted to open up certain things that people might not know about her.
Cher also recalled horrifying moments when she thought her career was over, and it seemed there was no way out. Music is her true passion, and she can’t even imagine doing something else.
I have gone up so high and then fallen down so low. You just think, well, I would do something else but I don't know how to do anything else.
Cher’s life mission
Despite numerous hardships, Cher keeps going again and again, and never gives up. There is a reason why she goes up on stage and performs for millions of viewers – she wants to make them forget about problems.
My life’s mission is to make people forget their problems. When I go onstage, I think I’ve got this thing, it’s gonna come through me, it’s gonna go to the audience, and they’re gonna forget anything that bothers them for these 90 minutes. It’s supposed to take you out of yourself. That’s my job.
