Friends Of The Late Doris Day Explain Why She Won't Have A Funeral Or Grave Marker

The iconic American actress and singer, Doris Day, passed away on May 13th 2019, just six weeks after celebrating her 97th birthday.
The tragic news was confirmed by star’s charity, the Doris Day Animal Foundation. Besides being a talented actress, she was also a devoted animal welfare activist.
Reportedly, The Man Who Knew Too Much star died from pneumonia complications.
No funeral for Doris Day?
Doris Day’s manager and close friend, Bob Bashara, said the star won't have funeral or grave marker. Reportedly, the Hollywood star indicated her wish in the will. Of course, it was a rather surprising announcement for millions of her fans all over the world.
No funeral, no memorial and no [grave] marker.
Of course, people wanted to know the exact reason for such an unusual choice. Bashara assumes it might be like that because Doris was a rather shy person.
I think it was because she was a very shy person.
Bob also revealed Doris always avoided talks about the prospective funeral or memorial. It was like a taboo subject for her, and she never talked about death with anyone. Moreover, it was very hard for the actress when her animals had to be put down.
She didn’t like death, and she couldn’t be with her animals if they had to be put down. She had difficulty accepting death.
By the way, Doris Day considered charity work to be her greatest accomplishment in life. She was active till her last days and refused to slow down or be limited by age.
