Wrongful dismissal?

The cartoonist in question, Rob Rogers, had worked for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette for 25 years before his dismissal. And apparently, the paper had been okay with his political drawings until now.

In the past, Roger is known to have used his work to keep conversations going around former president Bill Clinton's affair with Monica Lewinsky. For his troubles, he was shortlisted for the Pulitzer.

He spoke against Trump's immigration policy

As disturbing as his termination is, he says it did not come as a surprise to him.

Six of his drawings had been rejected in the weeks before he was sacked.

One of his most recent cartoons rejected by the paper had taken a swipe at Trump's immigration policy for separating children from their parents.

Online, people have been reacting to news of his termination, and many are unanimous in their outrage.

Even the Mayor of Pittsburgh, Bill Peduto, has called the move by the paper disappointing and indicative of clamping down press freedom, but the paper stands by their decision. They called Mr. Robert angry and 'obsessed with Trump'.
