The fans of Louisa May Alcott’s masterpiece “Little Women” can enjoy another interpretation of the famous book. The PBS’s new miniseries of the same name will premiere on Sunday, May 13th.
A very special guests list was made to honor the show. The whole cast was in attendance for the screening and panel, including a TV legend Angela Lansbury, Uma Thurman, and Ethan Hawke’s daughter Maya Hawke, ‘Big Little Lies’ star Kathryn Newton, and many more.
Ahmad Tea hosted the advanced screening as part of the Television Academy’s Emmy Awards Consideration Preview. Angela Lansbury, who has been nominated for over 18 Emmy’s since 1983, might be receiving a new nomination this year for her role in the series “Little Women.”
The 92-year-old actress looked positively radiant and incredibly elegant at the premiere, outshining her young colleagues.
Lansbury was wearing a gorgeous blush pink silk shirt, which she paired with long white trousers. She also appeared to wear snickers because why not! Comfort should always come first.
To stay in such good shape, Angela watches her diet and likes to do crossword puzzles to keep herself mentally alert.
The legendary actress recently mentioned an incredible fact. Her work in the series marks the first time in her entire career that she has worked with a female director. She said:
That was an interesting experience for me, and a first, and I’m so glad I had it. It was a very intimate relationship with a director which I had never really encountered before.
She was quite wonderful in her ability to come to us actors — not in a loud way, from a distance she would come and whisper in our ears. And in that way, she was able to impart very subtle things that otherwise perhaps as a woman she might not have wanted to, for everybody to hear. But for the actor to hear it was delightful and I loved working that way with her.
After mentioning she worked with the loudest male directors before, we can imagine that this time was a breeze of fresh air for the actress.
