But now the real reason why St. John passed away has been finally revealed and it has nothing to do with the actor’s deep sadness.

So what actually happened?

52-year-old Kristoff St. John was found not breathing at his home on February 3. According to the L.A. coroner's office’s report, the reason for the actor’s demise was hypertrophic heart disease. It means that his heart couldn’t pump blood normally. This disease can often be undiagnosed.

The actor’s passing was categorized as accidental. However, it’s been noted that alcohol was one of the contributing factors because, apparently, St. John was on alcohol binge when he left this world.

Despite the report, St. John's ex-wife, as well as his co-star Eric Braeden, believe that the true reason for such a tragic event was Kristoff‘s “broken heart.”

They both claim that the actor couldn’t live in this world without his son, Julian, in it. Julian took his own life after a long struggle with mental health problems.
