After A Six-Decade-Long Career, Joseph Campanella Is Dead At 93

Veteran Hollywood actor Joseph Campanella has passed on at the age of 93. His daughter-in-law made information available to Variety. The actor dies peacefully on Wednesday at his home in Sherman Oaks, California.

Born in NYC, he later settled in Hollywood after graduating from Columbia University. Campanella is most popular for appearing in the crime drama “Mannix”, which ran between the late 1960’s and early 1970’s.

In the 80’s, he was featured on the primetime soap, “The Colbys”. From 1996 to 2005, the seasoned actor was a regular on “The Bold and the Beautiful”. He also worked on “That’s Life” and “The Practice”.

For his performance in “Mannix”, Campanella earned an Emmy nomination in 1968. He also lent his incredible voice to animated shows in the ‘90s. The “Discover” science series on Disney Channel, “Road Rovers”, and “Spider-Man” are some of his more memorable roles.

Campanella is survived by his wife, Kill, seven sons and eight grandchildren. His elder brother, actor Frank Campanella, passed on in 2007.

Condolences are still pouring in

Friends and fans of the late actor have been sending messages to the family of Campanella.

In his six-decade-long career, Campanella appeared in over 200 TV and film roles. He will be missed.
