Jameela Alia Burton-Jamil was born to Pakistani-British parents. Before working as the radio host on The Official Chart, the co-host on The Official Chart Update on BBC Radio 1 and the current show host on The Good Place Jamil was an English teacher.
The public persona is also a vocal body positivity activist and anti-abortion laws advocate alongside being a charity lover and supporter.
"The best decision I've ever made"
Abortion is a very fragile topic. Some people are pro-life; others — pro-choice.
In the wake of the abortion ban in Georgia, Jameela Jamil opened up about her experience when she was much younger. Reportedly, the radio host had an abortion before and it was "the best decision" she has ever made.
This anti-abortion law in Georgia is so upsetting, inhumane, and blatantly demonstrative of a hatred of women, a disregard for our rights, bodies, mental health, and essentially a punishment for rape victims, forcing to carry the baby of their rapist. https://t.co/WROYaLAwPG— Jameela Jamil 🌈 (@jameelajamil) May 13, 2019
The Good Place star explained further:
Both for me, and for the baby I didn't want, and wasn't ready for, emotionally, psychologically, and financially. So many children will end up in foster homes. So many lives ruined. So very cruel.

People started shaming the host for "murdering" an infant inside her womb, as it is already a human, according to numerous scientists. Jameela Jamil answered everybody in a new Instagram post:
I DON'T GIVE A FLYING F—K WHAT YOU THINK OF MY DECISION. MY DECISION. MY BODY. MY CHOICE.
Jameela Jamil has always been protecting women and their own right to choose what is best for their bodies. Accordingly, it makes Jamil a pro-choice advocate.

It’s not about condemning a “choice”. It’s about saving a defenceless human being. Where is your compassion for life?— canucker 🇨🇦🇺🇸 (@cecilelavas) (@canucker9) May 14, 2019
You could have put your child up for adoption..giving it a chance for life but you denied your child the life that your parents gave you. I will pray for you. God can forgive you, IF you repent, if you realize that you were wrong. I wish you well that is why I will pray for you.— P Edward Murray (@Patrickm55P) May 14, 2019
As the child of a single parent, who has some experience with the reality of social services and adoption...I'm glad my birth mother wasn't as vain as you. Abortion would have been a really bad choice for me.— Zero-Fox (@SChad71593015) May 14, 2019
Why is this never talked about on the left? Just getting rid of it, erasing your "mistake," as it were. Always the morally repugnant choice, never a sensible one.— Mr.Bookman (@bamabear40) May 14, 2019
This is impossible to say with any certainty. You don’t know how you would have felt or where your life would have gone. You most certainly don’t know if it’s the best for the child.— Ryan Kelso (@AllMightyMirdon) May 14, 2019
Are you a pro-life or pro-choice advocate?
