'Days Of Our Lives' Star John Clarke Has Passed Away Due To Complications of Pneumonia

John Clarke's death has been announced. Born on April 14, 1931, his biggest claim to fame was originating and portraying Mickey Horton on the NBC series, Days of Our Lives for nearly four decades. The actor worked from the debut of the soap opera in 1965, until his retirement in 2004.

He also gave other TV appearances. Mr. Clarke starred with Ida Lupino in the episode The Sixteen-Millimeter Shrine of The Twilight Zone in 1959. He served in 27 episodes as Patrolman Joe Huddleston in ABC crime drama series, The New Breed.

John's daughter, Melinda Clarke kickstarted her career by acting beside her dad in his main gig. She later portrayed Julie Cooper in The O.C.

Demise at 88

John Clarke has passed away in Laguna Beach, California on October 16 at the age of 88. The cause of his death was complications of pneumonia. The legend had suffered a stroke in 2007. Ever since then, his health kept deteriorating.

Melinda Clarke took to Instagram and confirmed the devastating news with deep sorrow. She captioned with an air melancholy:

With much sadness Iā€™m sharing that John Clarke my father my mentor passed as I sang to him. He is at peace. Death is as much a part life as birth. He is in peace.

Friends and fans paid him tribute

John's castmates Christie Clark and Maree Cheatham expressed their grievances on Twitter. The actor's fans also joined in and offered condolences to his family.
