'Chicago P.D.' Star, Jon Seda Has Decided To Leave The Show After Starring For 7 Years

Jon Seda has been a household name since his appearance in January 2014 as Detective Antonio Dawson in the NBC's drama series Chicago P.D. and Chicago Justice. As he is saying goodbye to the show, we have a lot to cheer him for.

Born as Jonathan Seda, the New Yorker star began his journey as a boxer. His first debut in Hollywood had actually incorporated his skills into his role in 1992's movie, Gladiator. He rose to fame and went on to work in many major projects, like Twelve Monkeys (1995), Primal Fear (1996), Selena (1997), Bad Boys II (2003) and Bullet to the Head (2012).

Departure from the show

As Deadline had reported earlier, Jon has decided to depart the Chicago franchises after acting on Chicago Fire, Chicago P.D. and Chicago Justice for 7 years. He was one of the main and original casts of the show. Many believe that his character has finished its part and now, needs to move on. The producers were in huge favor of Det. Antonio staying but, the word of his exit is already out.

The actor dedicated a Tweet to his loving fans and Chicago family, thanking them for their support. He also mentioned that it was an honor for him to portray Antonio Dawson. He meant it when he wrote:

I’ll always treasure the time and stories we shared. 

People are devastated 

His countless admirers believe him to be the best part of Chicago. Almost all plots revolved around his role, and it's not easy for the fans to see him go.
