Important Health Update: Alex Trebek Is Responding Well To Chemotherapy & His Tumors Are Shrinking

Ever since Alex Trebek disclosed his stage IV pancreatic cancer diagnosis, we are hearing one bad news after another about him. However, the Jeopardy star's latest update will cheer us all for sure.

Alex had previously revealed in several interviews how he is struggling terribly. Initially, he had promised to fight the battle with all his might.

In the recent months, he experienced intense bouts of depression. A lingering sadness took over him and he couldn't find a way out. All this time, his wife Jean Currivan remained by his side and supported him.

A miracle has happened!

In the newest issue of PEOPLE magazine, Alex says his doctors are positive that he is in "near remission". The 78-years-old sensation finds this promising result to be quite "mind-boggling". Cancer has only 9% survival rate and it seemed Alex could possibly overcome it after all.

Nothing can be claimed for sure as he's not completely out of the woods. But his statement does give tremendous hope. He narrated in the cover story that:

The doctors said they hadn’t seen this kind of positive result in their memory…some of the tumors have already shrunk by more than 50 percent.
