Earlier this week, reports have come out about Trump administration detaining immigrant families at the Mexican and U.S. border and forcibly separating children from their parents.
While adults are being jailed for illegally entering the country, children are kept in government custody.
Rachel Maddow, MSNBC's veteran journalist, was reporting on this Trump policy, when she became overwhelmed with emotion and started to tear up.
The 45-year-old anchor was reading about three 'tender age' shelter in Texas, where many of the immigrant kids are being sent, but she couldn't handle the horror of this reality.
Rachel was trying to contain herself, but as her eyes were looking at the text, she was starting to break down again and had to abruptly finish her report.

Maddow then took to her Twitter to apologize for losing her composure on air and shared the rest of the report in writing form.

If nothing else, it is my job to actually be able to speak while I'm on TV.
What I was trying to do -- when I suddenly couldn't say/do anything -- was read this lede:
Twitter users rushed to console Maddow and expressed their respect of her riveting moment.
That genuine moment was a powerful reflection of everything most of us are feeling. Thank you— Glenda Burgess (@GlendaBurgess) 20 июня 2018 г.
When the news is so appalling... @maddow— cupcakekitty (@cupcakekitty09) 20 июня 2018 г.
Reminds me of Walter Cronkite on 11/22/63. 😢
No need to apologize! We were all sobbing right with you! This is beyond heartbreaking and sobbing is completely justified. ❤️— Amanda Backof (@amBackoff) 20 июня 2018 г.
Omg then there’s this. This detail. These babies. Oh. My. God. Who needs the UN Council on Human Rights when we can have babies changing babies because not enough Americans think that’s bad, apparently. https://t.co/DWW1HmSnp0— Pepys’s Carré de l'Est (@cromgood) 20 июня 2018 г.
How do you feel about the journalist showing her emotion during the report?
