March 11 was an exciting day for all the royal watchers and fans, as the British royal family gathered at Westminster Abbey for Commonwealth Day that marked the 70th anniversary of the modern Commonwealth. And it looks like most royal ladies in attendance had a thing for bright and vibrant colors!

In fact, two of them, namely Queen Elizabeth and Duchess Camilla, stepped out wearing two different shades of purple, donning near-identical outfits. Charles’ wife opted for a purple dress and a long purple velvet coat.
She accessorized her vivacious ensemble with a chic matching purple hat, a pearl necklace, gloves, and a simple, black purse. Do you think she did it on purpose to follow in the monarch’s footsteps?
The Queen, on the other hand, made heads turn with a purple hat decorated with flowers. As for her outfit, Her Majesty wore a skirt and a matching button-down jacket in a brighter shade of purple.
Which look do you like better?
Regardless of the answer, without any doubt, both ladies looked elegant and classy, as always!
