'She Really Doesn't Care!" Donald Trump Says Melania's 'Don't Care' Jacket That She Wore To Visit Immigrant Kids Was Not An Accident

The First Lady of the United States caused quite the outrage when she chose to wear a controversial jacket to visit children of illegal immigrants in Texas.

Melania's confusing fashion choice

The FLOTUS took a trip to Texas to speak to children and officials at a shelter for migrant children. However, the jacket she chose to wear was all people could talk about.

It did not take long for pictures of the First Lady sporting a $39 Zara jacket to go viral. The article of clothing featured the phrase, "I Really Don't Care, Do U?" on the back.

People soon began to wonder was this a message to the kids who desperately wanted to reunite with their family? Is Melania Trump really saying she did not really care about children of undocumented immigrants being separated from their parents at the border?

'No hidden message,' her spokeswoman says

Melania Trump's spokeswoman Stephanie Grisham said that the jacket was not a deliberate message to anyone.

Grisham told Business Insider:

It's a jacket. There was no hidden message. After today's important visit to Texas, I hope the media isn't going to choose to focus on her wardrobe (Much like her high heels last year).

But Donald Trump begs to differ

As social media continued to heat up over Melania's fashion choice, President Trump took to Twitter to clear things up.

The POTUS explained that Melania's message was not to the distraught children or a jab at the whole immigration issue, but it was actually meant for the 'Fake News Media.'

Trump's tweet read:

“I REALLY DON’T CARE, DO U?” written on the back of Melania’s jacket, refers to the Fake News Media. Melania has learned how dishonest they are, and she truly no longer cares!

So, was Melania's message directed at anyone or did she just simply love the jacket? We'll probably never know.
