If Meghan Markle Is Walked Down The Aisle By Her Mom, It Won't Be The First Time In Royal Family History

The Kensington Palace announced that Thomas Markle Sr. will walk his daughter Meghan down the aisle on her big day. But the recent photo scandal he was involved in now has resulted in some worrying about this possibility.

It seems some members of Meghan's family, including her dad and half-siblings, have been involved in a form of scandal.

The only one with a clean record so far is her mom, Doria. Does this mean she is the only one worthy enough to walk her down the aisle? Well, if that does happen, it won't be an unprecedented event in the royal family.

Thomas Markle Sr's staged photo drama

Meghan Markle's half-sister, Samantha Grant, recently appeared on Loose Women where she blamed herself for the staged photos of their dad. It was reported that some paparazzi pictures of Thomas were all staged to influence his image.

Samantha confirmed that it was all her fault. She said she set up the pictures because previous photos of Thomas were unflattering and inappropriate.

I have to say I am entirely the culprit. As we know the media can take very unflattering photographs of people on their casual days and blow it way out of proportion. I said, you know, the world has no idea you’re getting in shape, doing healthy things. They don’t photograph you buying vegetables and PH water. They photograph you as unflattering ways as they can.

She hoped the staged pictures would show her dad in a different and better light.

If Doria gives away the bride, it won't be the first time in the royal family

The royal family is yet to make any alteration to their earlier statement that Thomas Markle will be the one to walk his daughter down the aisle, so it's safe to say that plan is still on.

However, if Meghan's mother does the honors, then it will be just like when Queen Victoria did it many years ago. In fact, she walked two of her daughters down the aisle.

Victoria gave away her daughter, Princess Helena, in 1866, when she was getting married to Prince Christian of Schleswig-Holstein. This was five years after her husband, Prince Albert passed away.

It was such a monumental and soulful event that she chose to wear a black mourning dress and a white widow's cap for the occasion.

19 years later, she walked her youngest child, Princess Beatrice, down the aisle as well. She wore black again in memory of her late husband.

It may actually be a pretty sweet touch if history repeats itself. It will certainly make an unforgettable event.
