As hurricane Florence hits the Carolina coast, photos of its disastrous results have been hitting social media. It does not look good at all and officials say it could get worse.

This comes as reports claimed that a 90mph category 1 storm hit New Bern with a flood that has left no less than 150 people stranded with 18,000 in darkness from power failures.
The pictures and Snapchat videos reveal considerable damage done to homes.
Earlier. reports claimed that 1 million plus people had fled their homes as hurricane Florence approached. It was estimated that the storm would reach a category 5 level 155mph before it hit.

According to ABC news, it is currently slow-moving as it heads towards the northwest at a speed of 6mph. But, heavy rains have continued and are expected to last through the weekend.
