Three weeks after ABC canceled Roseanne for a new season, the studio confirmed the spinoff is in the works.

The executive producer, Tom Werner, announced that the network gave the green light to return the famous show on one condition – Roseanne Barr will leave the series.

Need to remind that ABC canceled Roseanne following Barr’s offensive tweet about Valerie Jarrett. The actress apologized to the studio and Ms. Jarrett in particular and released a series of tweets with excuses, but none of them could change ABC’s decision to cancel the sitcom.

Roseanne Barr commented on the show spinoff:

I regret the circumstances that have caused me to be removed from ‘Roseanne’. I agreed to the settlement in order that 200 jobs of beloved cast and crew could be saved, and I wish the best for everyone involved.

Most of the cast, including John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf, Sara Gilbert, Lecy Goranson, and Michael Fishman, have already agreed to reprise their iconic roles in the show spinoff. Its working title is for now on “The Conners.”

Roseanne spinoff will reportedly premier this fall. Of course, it’s hard to imagine the show without its main character. The good thing is that numerous fans will continue to enjoy the adventures of their favorite Conner family at least for one more season.
