As the First Lady of the United States (FLOTUS), Michelle Obama was loved for being an accessible icon, but it is the initiatives she gave her voice to that she is most remembered by.

Forever First Lady?

Her activities outside the White House have constantly earned her comparisons with the current U.S. First Lady Melania Trump.

And during a 2018 college signing day event in Philadelphia, Michelle Obama further triggered the comparisons unwittingly while addressing the soon-to-be college students.

She referred to herself as “forever first lady”, as she urged the students to stay focused in pursuit of their dreams.

She said:

If I can be standing here as your forever first lady, then you can do anything you put your mind to.

Although, she later referred to herself by the correct title, “former first lady”, her earlier twist earned her a rousing applause from the audience at Temple University.
