Oprah Winfrey Has Such A Big Influence On American Culture That There Is Now A Museum Exhibition Devoted To Her

Oprah gets a lot of critics as well as praises. She’s been worshiped by many and blasted by some. Despite all the criticism, she has influenced the American culture and revolutionized day-time television, and nobody can deny her tremendous achievements.

Oprah came from very poor family, raised on a small Mississippi farm by her grandmother, who hoped her granddaughter will become someone’s domestic worker, where she will be treated kindly.

But Winfrey wasn’t made from that dough. When she was around 5 years old, she decided that the life that is expected of her is not made for her. As her friend once said:

 Oprah Winfrey can achieve anything she wants to achieve.

Now, 64-year-old is a media mogul, talk show host, actress, producer, and philanthropist. According to a new exhibition at the National Museum of African American History and Culture, Oprah is also an activist who made a lot of contribution to American culture.

“Watching Oprah: The Oprah Winfrey Show and American Culture” opens up on Friday and will run through June 2019. The exhibition will feature video clips, movie costumes, personal photographs, and journals to discover what stands behind Oprah’s image and how she influenced America.

Winfrey donated $21 million to the museum, making her the largest individual benefactor, but the museum director says it didn’t influence the exhibition.

Whilst her contribution to the American culture is undeniable, she might even run the country as its president. There have been many speculations as to whether Winfrey will run for the office or not.

The 2020 elections are not so far away, but Oprah revealed she would run for president for one condition – if God will tell her to do so.

Soon, we will find out if we ever get to see the first female president.
