Anderson Cooper is currently going through difficult times —his mother, Gloria Vanderbilt, passed away at 95. The CNN anchor announced her death by himself and recorded a heartbreaking video, commemorating and praising his mum.
She was 95 years old, but ask anyone close to her, and they'd tell you: She was the youngest person they knew — the coolest and most modern.
"Gloria Vanderbilt was an extraordinary woman, who loved life, and lived it on her own terms," said @andersoncooper on his mother who died this morning at 95. "She was a painter, a writer, and designer but also a remarkable mother, wife, and friend." pic.twitter.com/i4GDzPgQLp— CNN (@CNN) June 18, 2019
Andy Cohen's tribute
Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen are believed to be close friends. They oftentimes share snaps with each other on social media.
Just like many other people, Cohen was heartbroken hearing the news about Cooper's beloved mother's demise on June 17th. He paid a touching tribute to the New York fashion icon on his Instagram page.
Gloria Vanderbilt was an amazing woman who lived a life filled with incredible peaks and impossible obstacles. Through it all, she remained eternally optimistic with a wicked sense of humor.
Andy Cohen also added that Anderson's giggle is identical to his mothers, which the CNN star noticed himself a while ago.
In fact, Anderson’s iconic and infectious giggle comes from his mom. Sending Anderson all my love, and may she Rest In Peace.
Hopefully, the Bravo host will make sure Anderson Cooper isn't alone in the mourning and grieving process.
1) I lost a friend today. The one and only Gloria Vanderbilt. I loved her so much. She let me call her “Glo Vandi” and I would be so flattered when she would refer to me as her daughter. When we would have our alone time, we would sit on this sofa and talk for hours. pic.twitter.com/GeziwAyh4f— Kathy Griffin (@kathygriffin) June 17, 2019

Indeed, Gloria Vanderbilt had an excellent life, full of positive vibes and determination. She was the strongest woman but not tough, as Anderson revealed in the heartfelt tribute.
