Heartbreaking Separation Of Senior Citizens: Couple Being Together For 70 Years Cannot Afford Care Home Fees
Elderly couples whom we see walking down the streets hand in hand, give us major couple goals. What if there is another side to the story? The constant fear of being separated due to senior citizen care laws! Love is always put to test.
Their need for nursing care
Dementia and Alzheimer's related disabilities make old people dependent. They need nursing as well as social care. According to The Guardian, researchers have warned that within eight years, there will be about 2.8 million people over 65 years of age who will need special care. They will not be able to cope alone.

The bad news is, NHS is also facing a staggering increase in the cost of elderly care.
The couple of 70 years cannot be together anymore

The cost of social services is £8,000 ($10500) per month which they can afford for only one of them. Their daughter, Joanne, 57 explained they both needed the round-the-clock attention that Cedar Lodge provided. Sadly, the money has run out now. She told BirminghamMail UK:
The separation will devastate them as the lovebirds have never spent time apart.
Devoted elderly couple to be separated by care home funding: Frank Springett, 91, and his wife Mary, 86, are currently in the same care home in Wootton Wawen, west Midlands. Their daughter fears the council will split them up over funding issues. https://t.co/fx1MxV0nX0 pic.twitter.com/DCxNFkeuET— jc m. mercado (@tianz17) September 23, 2018
Mary remains in the £4,000 ($5200) per month care home while lonely Frank is to live in a flat by himself. It's heartbreaking to know that their condition is getting progressively worse. Until now, no compensation or aid has been provided by Social Care Services.
That's how people reacted to their miserable split
Social media users were enraged and disgusted by the legal system. This issue of senior citizens is being addressed by many people now.
Plenty of money for crap that benefits nobody but them and their buddies but none for their citizens especially those they say are no longer productive members of society. What happened to their religious values the say is dear to their heart.— Joe Kahl (@JoeKahl3) September 23, 2018
