Jonah Hill has a talented family! His sister Beanie Feldstein is an actress, too. Sadly, another talent left the family too soon.
Jonah and Beanie’s brother, talent manager Jordan Feldstein, died suddenly on December 22, 2017. The cause of his death was revealed weeks later: Jordan died of pulmonary embolism. He was only 40 and had two sons.
Jordan’s famous siblings have largely kept silence about their loss, but Beanie has recently decided to open up.
Beanie on the loss of her big brother
Life has never been the same for Beanie after her brother’s unexpected passing.
In her essay Grief Classes, written for InStyle, the actress admits the grief she still feels is hard to define or describe:
Grief is just impossible. It cannot be contained or summarized or enclosed. To describe the wound grief leaves if you have not experienced it is to come to it hazy and out of focus.
Jordan was the eldest among the three siblings, and Beanie always looked up to him. She remembers him fondly:
He was a remarkably generous, intelligent, loving person. He was an incredible father, beloved by his boys. He was a deeply devoted son. He was a brilliant creative mind. And he was my biggest brother. He gave me so many things, including my name.
More than a year after Jordan’s passing, the pain of loss is still fresh for Beanie and it doesn’t let up:
In this past year, I have learned an immeasurable amount about the bandwidth of my own heart. The pain is so unbearable at times, so unremitting. Yet, in addition to the deluge of feelings leaking out of me at all times, I have found the process of grief (because it is and will always be a process, never finished, never concluded) to be just as resonant in my mind as it is in my heart.
Beanie wants to make sure others remember her brother and his legacy. She sometimes shares throwback pictures of him and herself on Instagram, especially on important dates, including his birthday.
Those who worked with Jordan also find it hard to come to terms with his untimely passing. Jordan managed Maroon 5, among others, and the band’s lead singer Adam Levine keeps his late manager in his heart and mind.
Adam even dedicated this year’s Super Bowl halftime show performance to Jordan.
