'The Amazing Race' Contestant Jim Raman Passes Away At Age 42, Reports Confirm

It’s only March, but this year has already seen many unexpected losses. Some of people’s favorite TV stars – including Kristoff St. John, Luke Perry, and Lisa Sheridan – are no longer with us. And some of our favorite reality TV personalities – including Fatima Ali and Sean Milliken – left us too soon. Another sad addition to this ever-growing list is Jim Raman.

Who was Jim Raman?

Jim Raman, who many of us remember from season 25 of CBS’s The Amazing Race, has died on Monday, multiple reports confirm. The cause of his passing is not clear, but it’s being handled as not suspicious. Jim was only 42.

Jim and his wife, Misti Raman, appeared on The Amazing Race as the Married Dentists. The couple finished the race second.

The couple own Irmo Smiles, a dental practice in Irmo, South Carolina. They have two kids, Lexi and Jimmy.

Irmo Smiles announced the heartbreaking news about Jim’s passing in a statement. It reads (quoted from People and WLTX):

Irmo Smiles has suffered a tragic loss this week. It is with deep sadness that we share the news of the passing for Dr. Jim Raman. As our staff and the family prepare for Dr. Raman’s celebration of life, please join us in praying for peace and comfort during this difficult time.
