Different cultures have distinguished dates to celebrate their national festivals. However, the United Kingdom celebrates an international occasion reconciled with their baptist religion. The newly-made royal Meghan Markle may have forsaken the British traditions while celebrating Mother's day.
On Sunday, May 12, the US, Australia, Canada, South Africa, Japan, Kenya and a number of European countries such as Italy, Finland, Iceland, and Germany marked International Mother's Day. It means to honor mothers in the family and their contributions to society for raising their children as good citizens.
The Duchess' celebrated it with Americans
Meghan Markle took to Instagram and made a dedication to all mothers. Now that she is herself one to Archie, this day must've held great significance for her. But, in a very American way, a beautiful portrait in which Meghan held her baby boy's feet was posted. The caption read:
Paying tribute to all mothers today - past, present, mothers-to-be, and those lost but forever remembered.
Paying tribute to all mothers today - past, present, mothers-to-be, and those lost but forever remembered. We honor and celebrate each and every one of you. Today is Mother’s Day in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Kenya, Japan, and several countries across Europe. This is the first Mother’s Day for The Duchess of Sussex. Doing so, the Duchess has defied the British ways. The traditional Briton's date for Mothering Sunday (not Mother's Day) is actually three weeks before Easter, the 4th Sunday in Lent, mostly in March. Maybe, she just wasn't a mother back when British folks celebrated this day. Now, that she a mother, Meghan won't miss a chance to be proud of her new role.
How did Kate Middleton celebrate?
Following the Britons like one, the Duchess of Cambridge had celebrated Mother's day on March 31st. She had marked this occasion quite privately, just spending time with her amazing children.
The methods are different but, the spirit of this day is the same. Meghan Markle surely knows how to keep up with the world. Share this and let us know if you find her gesture reasonable or not?
