Céline Dion and René Angélil's relationship was under a big question when the Canadian singer's mother was seemingly against their marriage. Mother's disapproval was about the age difference between partners, but happiness is always the winner, so Céline Dion's dear parent put up with their love.
Dion still loves and misses her late husband
René Angélil had rough throat cancer and was battling the disease for three years until his demise in 2016. This unbearable pain and tragedy almost stopped Céline Dion from performing on a stage and recording albums. But she knew René wanted Celine to keep on.
In an interview, the singer tearfully revealed her true feelings after everything:
I didn't know if I was going to have the strength and courage to sing again, because Rene always sang with me. He was my other half.
The Au Revoir hitmaker was afraid to stay alone without a partner to cuddle, support, and be beside her. Even though she's still single, her best friend Pepe Muñoz helped her feel important.
Every time when Céline Dion talks about her husband, she cannot hold her tears back. An unexpected event at the Paris Fashion Week Valentino show coincided with the third anniversary of René's death and brought her to tears.
Dion was caught crying while the song dear to her and René's hearts — The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face by Roberta Flack — was playing on the background.
Pain always becomes lesser as time flies, and hence, there's always a reason to live even after losing your significant one.
Hopefully, Céline Dion will remain undescribably strong and patient in her life.
