It’s Officially Happening! CBS Announced The Return Of 'Big Brother' And Former ‘The Talk’ Host Julie Chen

Big Brother is back! CBS announced that the show is returning with a two-night premiere in June. 

What is 'Big Brother'?

Big Brother is a reality game show with its name taken from a fictional character in George Orwell's Nineteen Eighty-Four novel.

The show was created in 1997 by producer John de Mol and launched in 2000. The game show involves contestants living together in a home under constant surveillance, where one housemate gets evicted each week.

The contestants will not have any communication whatsoever with the outside world, as they will be completely isolated. The last contestant standing will earn a grand prize of $500,000.

Since its inception, the series has been a hit for CBS and has two spin-offs: Big Brother: Over the Top and Celebrity Big Brother.

Are you a fan of Big Brother? We have some exciting news for you. On Monday, CBS announced that the 21st season of the reality show will return for a two-night premiere on June 25 and 26. Hurrah!

Julie Chen Moonves will return as the host for the show, which will air three times a week. The host tweeted a brief teaser for the upcoming season, and fans can’t wait for the show to start.

The cast for the new season will be announced in mid-June.
