Cover Up, Ladies! Miss America Pageant Cancelled Swimsuit Segment In Favor Of Inclusivity

Next Miss America competition will get rid of the swimsuit segment.

The producers of the show want to get away from the classic 'pageant' stamp that the competition has held since its establishment.

No swimsuit segment would also mean that Miss America will become more inclusive in terms of shapes and sizes of women entering the contest.

According to Gretchen Carlson, Miss America chairwoman, the contest will shift from judging its participant based on their looks:

We will no longer judge our candidates on their outward physical appearance. That's huge.

Public has mixed reactions to the announcement. Some claim Miss America will lose its ratings, and some celebrate the decision in favor of the equality.

It looks like now swimsuit competitions will be integral only in sports, just like it was intended from the start.
