A woman who is believed to be 46 jumped out of a window of a 29-story Gotham Hotel together with a boy aged 7. The incident took place on May 18 in Midtown East in New York City.
The police are now saying this was a 46-year-old mother with her 7-year-old child. Horrific.— Alex Silverman (@AlexSilverman) May 18, 2018
The two landed on the second-floor balcony. Unfortunately, they suffered significant injuries, which were incompatible with life, and passed away.
It’s believed that the woman and the boy were mother and son, but their identities have not been revealed. It’s also unclear whether the boy jumped on his own volition or was forced by his mom.
Employees of the boutique hotel, where rooms are go for about $200 per night, refused to comment on the situation. The police are now carrying out the investigation to determine if the woman had any history of mental illness.
Unfortunately, many people with problems that stop them from feeling good and functioning properly don’t seek professional help. Mental health professionals can help come up with a plan to solve problems, heal pains from the past, and build your self-confidence.
Sometimes, medication, other therapy methods, or the combination are needed. But suicide is never a good option.
