They Won't Be Preggo Buddies! Kate Middleton And Meghan Markle Won't Be Pregnant At The Same Time Due To Strict Protocol Rule

Date August 23, 2019

Kate Middleton is known for her love of children. She already has 3 and many fans believe that Meghan Markle becoming a mother for the first time might have woken up the desire to have another one.

The Duchess of Cambridge admitted herself she feels broody around children so having a new baby in the royal family might have made her think about adding one more little person to the Cambridge bunch.

However, if she does get pregnant in 2020, Meghan Markle would need to plan her second pregnancy for another time.

The almighty protocol

Even though royal fans wish to see both lovely Duchesses with baby bumps again, the old protocol rule might mean the two ladies won’t be allowed to get pregnant at the same time.

According to Espress.co.uk, the British royal family is bounded by countless protocol rules. One of them states that there is a certain way royal news can be shared with the public.

The Queen’s sister Princess Margaret was the victim of this same rule. When she got engaged with photographer Anthony Armstrong-Jones, she was told to delay the official announcement because the monarch was pregnant with Prince Andrew.

Margaret had to wait until Andrew’s birth to finally tell everyone she was getting married. This means that Meghan and Kate might have been asked to plan their pregnancies around each other.

Kate’s rank is higher so if she gets pregnant first, Meghan will have to wait with her pregnancy announcement until the Cambridge baby arrives.

Experts even suggested what would be the best time for the Duchess of Cambridge to get pregnant. It is believed Kate should consider conceiving a baby during winter months, especially in December. We can only wait and see if this old as time rule still stands.
