Date October 7, 2019

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are trying to pull off a tricky balancing act. It has become a precarious feat for them while combining a private life with royal duties. Do they need to trade one for the other?

The British taxpayers are concerned about the Sussex couple's lavish lifestyle. Around $3.2 million of their funds were spent on renovating the Frogmore cottage. The public was refused to have a look inside to maintain the family's personal space. Many media outlets debated if it was a deprivation of rights. How can Meghan and Harry demand seclusion while living off people's money?

Withdrawal from royalty

Recently, the Royal pair's successful tour to Africa was overshadowed by their decision to sue DailyMail. The magazine had "unlawfully" published the Sussex stunner's letter to her estranged dad, Thomas Markle. It may be followed by a court war that is embarrassing for the Britons.

So, what are Meghan and Harry's current options? Scottish presenter Lorraine Kelly thinks giving up their royalty is the right call. It will be a small sacrifice for their future happiness and a perfect remedy to ward off negativity. The journalist advises through the Sun News:

It would be a huge decision to walk away from public life and become plain Mr. and Mrs. Windsor, but it may be for the best.

Why they won't do it?

Princess Diana had reduced her responsibilities as a Royal when she divorced Prince Charles. Despite that, she continued to personally support numerous charities around the world. Prince Harry is obliged to follow his mother's footsteps.

While he and Meghan can give up royalty, they won't in late Princess of Wales' memory. They can choose to strip off their titles but, the public would still see them as champions of global change. Don't you think?
