Long before she became a royal, the Duchess of Sussex has spent a lot of her time doing humanitarian works. And being the wife of Prince Harry has only served to provide a larger platform.

Earlier this year, it was revealed that Meghan Markle had been named the new royal patron for a charity which offers support for women coping with unemployment.

This special honor means she gets to collaborate closely with an organization called Smart Works which helps unemployed women find their feet by providing them with training and clothes for job interviews.

Days after Meghan announced that she guest-edited the September issue of British Vogue, she also revealed that she plans to launch a collection of workwear to support the royal patronage Smart Works.

The news was shared in her British Vogue issue and according to royal reporter Omid Scobie, the Duchess sought the help of British department stores Marks & Spencer and John Lewis, and also her fashion designer friend Micha Nonoo for this project.

It was also announced that the products in this line will be sold on a "one-for-one" basis which means that for each item purchased, another is donated. Meghan explained the purpose, saying;

Not only does this allow us to be part of each other's story, it reminds us we are in it together.

According to Harper's Bazaar, Smart Works has grown quite quickly since Meghan became a part of it. The organization helped up to 187 struggling women in London in February alone.

Considering how closely tied Meghan's name is to her style, it's expected that this new adventure will be fruitful as well.
