No doubts, Prince Charles and Princess Diana were miserable throughout their 15-year marriage because their relationship reportedly was "forceful."

On the same breath, Camilla Parker Bowles and Charles were deeply in love from the start. That's why she was totally fine with their marriage and didn’t see Lady Diana as a serious threat. In one of Princess Diana’s biographies, The Diana Chronicles, Tina Brown wrote that even Camilla's former in-laws knew it.

Princess Diana was "deeply jealous and became deeply paranoid about Camilla" at the time. In an explosive and shattering episode 2 of the Fatal Voyage: Diana Case Solved podcast, Lady Di's former confidante Colin McLaren recalled how riddled with paranoia and jealousy over her husband’s years-long affair she was.

Besides, author and former Vanity Fair editor Tina Brown candidly revealed that Princess Diana's awareness about Prince Charles' affair with Duchess Camilla shook her to the core.

She was so deeply jealous and became so deeply paranoid about Camilla that she, in a way, almost willed the truth to be as it was, which was that they became reinvolved.

Brown also added Diana was devastated to discover that Charles and Camilla exchanged gifts behind her back, and he even wore a pair cufflinks given by his current wife during the honeymoon with the Princess of Wales.

The late princess’s former personal bodyguard Ken Wharfe also said in episode 2 that the royal family did nothing to stop Prince Charles.

There was nothing secret about the Prince of Wales’ relationship with Camilla. Everybody inside Buckingham Palace knew exactly what was happening — this was the problem.
