Princess Diana's Former Private Secretary Branded Meghan Markle ‘Irrelevant,’ Urging Her To ‘Do Less’

Date September 10, 2019

The Duchess of Sussex is expected to officially return from her maternity leave very soon. Meghan gave birth to her first child in May and enjoyed the several months of bonding with him and taking a break from her royal duties.

Despite that, the Duchess has already made a few public appearances. However, some royal fans claim she doesn’t deserve maternity leave as she doesn’t’ have a proper job.

Nonetheless, Meghan has probably gotten used to the constant criticism. Yet, she recently faced another hard blow, this time from Australian media.

She’s ‘irrelevant’

In a scandalous piece for 60 Minutes Australia, the presenter Karl Stefanovic blamed the Duchess of Sussex for all Buckingham Palace problems.

Stefanovic claimed Meghan is the reason for drama the royal family has been facing recently, dubbing her as ‘a major headache’ for royals. Princess Diana’s former private secretary Patrick Jephson agreed with him.

Jephson harshly criticized the Duchess, stating she doesn’t understand she’s the wife of the sixth in line to the British throne. He argued that she needs to ‘do less’ because she’s ‘constitutionally irrelevant.’

Patrick added:

Meghan isn't and never has been an ordinary British person, so part of her challenge is to work out what it feels like, what it is to be an ordinary British person and not to be one, but to understand therefore how to best use her extraordinary influence and high profile.

The Duchess is believed to be more involved in PR’s decisions than any other member of the royal family. Perhaps, Jephson’s comments mean that she needs to let other people do their job and learn how to use her position to positively influence the British public, as well as people all over the world.
