Sarah Ferguson and Princess Diana were more than just friends in the royal family, they were actually cousins as both ladies descended from William Cavendish, Fourth Duke of Devonshire. No wonder Fergie still feels the bond with Diana, even decades after her passing.

Sarah Ferguson remembers Princess Diana

For the first time in a while, the Duchess of York spoke about Princess Diana in an exclusive interview with Vogue Arabia.

The interview pointed out that Fergie was the one who brought fun to the somewhat stiff British monarchy in the past, but she immediately credited her late friend:

Oh, I brought modern etiquette and fun, with Diana, Princess of Wales. Me and Diana had the best time.

The Duchess added:

I loved her with all my heart.

Sarah and Diana knew how to have fun

Whenever Sarah Ferguson and Princess Diana felt lonely, they would get together and make prank calls. Their favorite target was the Queen Mother.

The two royal ladies would often call and hang up on their husband's grandmother, which made them laugh uncontrollably without fail.

It might seem childish, but what else were the royal ladies supposed to do in a big castle while their husbands were away? It's nice to know that Sarah and Diana had each other to rely on.
