Camilla and Meghan Markle may not seem like they have much in common but both women know what it's like to be misunderstood by the public.

The Duchess of Sussex has been having a pretty difficult time with the media for a while now. She has been accused of being dishonest and hypocritical based on some of her choices.

To show that these words got to her, Meghan actually admitted to not being quite okay with the negative stories, giving the impression that the Duchess must need someone to turn to for support.

Camilla, a pillar of support for Meghan Markle

According to reports, the Duchess of Cornwall has been there for Meghan Markle amid her struggle with public scrutiny.

A royal source revealed to Vanity Fair that Camilla has been a "pillar of support" for both Prince Harry and Meghan Markle following their revealing documentary.

The source said that the 72-year-old royal wants everyone to get along and doesn't like seeing them struggling.

Royal biographer Sally Bedell Smith also told the publication that Camilla can very much relate to Meghan's pain because, once upon a time, she was the one being vilified by the media for having an affair with Prince Charles while he was married to Diana.

The hate from the public continued for years, even after Camilla eventually married Charles, but the Duchess never complained or lashed back. As a result, she may be in the best position to understand what Meghan is going through with all the negative press and criticism.

Bedell added that Meghan could learn from Camilla's skill of winning over the love of the people and the press rather than antagonizing them. This puts Camilla in a "unique position" of being the right ally for Meghan Markle during these rough times.

In support for Meghan

While it may seem like it's all hate for the Duchess of Sussex, she does have supportive fans too.

According to Glamour, a group of 72 British female MPs (Members of Parliament) has written a letter of support to the Duchess. In an open letter, they stood with Meghan and expressed their solidarity as they also slammed the unfair way she has been treated by the press.

Meghan may be dealing with some pain and frustrations due to the public's impression of her character but it sounds like she can rely on family and some other supportive entities to remind her that she can always forge ahead. Hopefully, she finds solace in the kind words of loving people.
