Reports say the Duchess of Sussex struck up an unforeseen friendship with Princess Diana’s former sister-in-law, Victoria Lockwood.

It is believed the two women met a few times during the Sussex couple’s trip to South Africa where Lockwood has been living since 1995. Victoria allegedly visited Meghan and Harry in Cape Town and kept the Duchess company when her royal husband was away on solo engagements.

Prince Harry was actually a page boy at her and Earl Spencer’s wedding in 1989 and she managed to keep warm relationships with the ginger royal despite divorcing his uncle. The former model was also among the guests at Harry and Meghan’s wedding.

After separating from the Spencer family, it is though that Lockwood received over $2 million and got to keep the couple’s house in South Africa. In return, she had to retire from the family’s trusts and businesses.

It took less than 7 minutes to put an official end to the 8-year marriage. Lord Spencer and Lockwood retained joint custody of their 4 children but Princess Diana’s brother had to pay for their school fees, medical bills, and maintenance.
