Director Kevin Smith Is Hospitalized After Near-Fatal Heart Attack: ‘I’m Still Above Ground!’

Kevin Smith is known as a filmmaker of such movies as Clerks, Dogma, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, and many others. He’s also a charismatic actor, comedian, and a comic book writer. Right now, Smith is working on a series Comic Book Men that has a quite high IMDb rating and fans all over the country. But the show has almost lost its iconic star to a heart attack.

Still going strong

On February 25, Kevin cancelled his second stand up show in California because he fell ill. Soon, his condition deteriorated, and he rushed to a hospital. And he is lucky to have done that!

As it turns out, Smith had a blockage of his LAD artery, and he could have died if he hadn’t cancelled the gig. The 47-year-old star shared this news with his Twitter followers, saying:

But for now, I’m still above ground.

Of course, Smith’s fans and admirers were shocked upon getting to know the news. They rushed to the platform to wish him the speediest recovery. There were other famous celebs who joined Internet users in sending love to Kevin, including Chris Pratt and Brian Lynch.
