Major health struggles

Barbara Bush was diagnosed with Graves' disease, the type of thyroid illness, back in 1988. At that time, the Bush presidency just started, so Barbara had to carry out her official duties, while undergoing a radiation therapy.

Today, former First Lady is 92, and she's had enough of treatments in this lifetime. For a long time now, Barbara has been living with congestive heart failure and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. She has been hospitalized repeatedly, with doctors battling her health issues.
