Barbara suffered from the Graves’ disease, an autoimmune disorder that affects the thyroid. Recently, the family announced that her health saw a severe decline. During the last year, she was hospitalized several times.

A few days ago, Barbara decided she had enough of treatments in her life. The former first lady refused from hospitalization and further medical treatment.

Her family showed serious concern about the current state of Barbara’s health, but her decision was uncompromising. Her loving husband, George H.W. Bush, her 5 children, and 17 grandchildren kept praying for her recovery, though they understood there were bad chances for it.

On Tuesday, George H.W. Bush’s office released a sad announcement - Barbara Bush passed away surrounded by her loving family. She was 92.

Barbara Bush was a legendary figure in the history of the United States. She was loved and admired by millions, and her great contribution to the development of the country made Barbara people’s favorite first lady in history.

My dear mother has passed on at age 92. I’m a lucky man that Barbara Bush was my mother. Our family will miss her dearly, and we thank you all for your prayers and good wishes.

Barbara Bush would be long remembered for her devotion to the country and family. She was the most admired first lady in the history of the US presidencies.
